Goodbye Auroville and India

Taken at the Auroville Kindergarten

Well, I’m writing this entry from a hotel lobby in Bangkok, we finally managed to escape!
India was really a love/hate experience and the balance was definitely starting to tip the wrong way so I’m really happy to be in ‘the land of smiles’. It’s interesting to note that India could definitely not be called a land of smiles, unless it was in an extremelly ironic way.
I’m still working on the software project, but I’ll see if I can fit in some photos of Bangkok before we head to Chiang Mai.

Why did you leave Auroville in such a hurry? I thought you were very happy there

We left because my other half was getting itchy feet, I was doing a lot of work which left her a bit lonely. There’s not much to do in Auroville in the hottest couple of months when most Aurovillians leave for somewhere cooler. I’m sure I’ll be back! I’m not so keen on the rest of India though, Auroville is a bit of a protective bubble from it all.
